Direct Drive Blast Wheels

Direct Drive Blast Wheels

Design

Industrial Associates, Inc. and Bronco pioneered the direct drive airless shot blast wheel in the early 1980’s. Our standard 12”, 15” and 16” diameter, 3600 RPM wheel assemblies are the most powerful built to date and clean twice as fast as the 24”, 1800 RPM designs or 19-½” belt driven designs of the past. Bronco direct drive blast wheels can reduce cycle times by 50% or more.

Retro-Fit

Increase productivity and reduce overall operating costs by retrofitting your existing machine. Our compact 12”, 15” and 16” direct drive wheel assemblies easily retrofit to existing machines and will reduce maintenance costs.

Used Bronco Tumble Blast

Tumble Blasts

 (3)
The tumble blast design is the most cost effective solution for batch deburring, descaling and deflashing of castings, forgings, die castings and automotive parts. Our machines are fully integrated blast systems that are designed for ease of installation and operation and require minimal floor space. Tumble blasts gently tumble the parts to be cleaned in a blast chamber formed by an endless rubber mill belt. Parts are exposed to the blast stream as they tumble in the chamber. Heavy-duty 3 and 4 ply belt designs can handle heavy loads while assuring a tight fitting blast chamber, allowing small parts to be cleaned that otherwise may jam or wedge in traditional steel conveyor belt machines.

Fixed Tables

Fixed Tables

Fixed tables have one table positioned inside the main cabinet. When the door is closed, parts pass through the blast stream as the table slowly rotates. One or two blast wheel designs are available, depending on part shape and dimensions. Typical blast cycle times are 3-8 minutes.

A large, center-post hanger may be mounted to the table, on which the parts are hung, exposing all sides of the part to the blast stream. This eliminates the need to reposition or flip the parts if laid flat on the table. In effect, this design makes the fixed table a large spinner hanger or hook machine.

A V-notch roof slot allows for loading and unloading with a jib crane or other material handling system.

All fixed tables ...

Multi Tables

Multi-Tables

Multi-tables are well suited for continuous processing of aluminum die castings or other metal parts that can easily be positioned on a table or fixture. The design utilizes 4 or more satellite tables mounted to an indexing main table. The size and quantity of satellite tables depends on the part shape and dimensions. One or two blast wheel designs are available, depending on finish requirements.

As one satellite table rotates in the blast chamber, the operator is loading/unloading additional parts. After the blast cycle is complete, the main table indexes and the cycle repeats. Average cycle times run 10-20 seconds per table. For example, one Bronco multi-table blasts 3 Ford Escort oil pans on one fixture. The total cycle ...

Wire mesh high res

Wire Mesh Pass-Thrus

A wire mesh pass thru machine carries parts of various sizes and shapes through the blast chamber on a continuous manganese woven wire mesh belt where multiple wheels ensure complete coverage of every angle. A variety of work openings are available, depending on your unique requirements. Standard belt widths include 27” and 36”.

An extremely high production design, a wire mesh pass thru can clean heat treated parts at 6 - 8 feet per minute, die castings at 10 - 12 feet per minute and fabrications at 4 - 12 feet per minute, depending on the finish required.

All wire mesh machines are totally integrated with abrasive reclaim systems, air wash separators and armor plate lining.

Spinner Hanger Example

Spinner Hangers

Spinner hangers, or hook machines, are designed to clean odd shaped parts that are loaded onto a fixture (hanger). As the fixture rotates, the blast stream cleans the parts from multiple angles. One or two blast wheel designs are available, depending on part shape and dimensions. There are four common spinner hanger designs:
  • On a Merry-Go-Round, parts are positioned on the fixture (hook) and indexed to the blast chamber, where it rotates and exposes parts to the blast stream.
  • The In & Out design moves a loaded fixture (hook) of parts into a cabinet, where it rotates through the blast stream. Y-track systems allow for one fixture to be loaded/unloaded while another fixture is being processed.
  • With a large ...

Structural Blasters

Structural Blasters

Structural blast machines are designed to clean large steel fabrications and steel plate before or after fabrication and to provide a profile before coating. Roller conveyor, or an overhead monorail system, conveys material through the blast cabinet where multiple wheels, strategically positioned for full coverage, blast all angles of the work.

From steel plate and large steel fabrications, to small structural steel, angles, channels and flat stock, there is a design to meet your needs. Each multiple wheel machine is designed based on your product size and work specifications.

In addition, Bronco is the specialist in providing equipment for cleaning pipe from 2” to 10’ in diameter. These designs process work at a ...

Dust Collectors

Dust Collectors

After the blast wheel, an efficient dust collection system is the most critical element of any blast machine. Not only does it ventilate the blast chamber, it also controls the air wash separator, which cleanses the media of scale, dust and non-usable abrasive.

Ventilation for Bronco equipment is provided by high efficiency, cartridge type dust collectors with continuous pulse cleaning of the filter media. The units are 99.9999% efficient down to 0.5 microns.

Our units come complete with quick release cartridges, convenient access doors, fans, control box, starter, gauges and hopper/legs for discharge into a 55 gallon drum. Other options are available depending on your specific requirements.
